Please teach me about Pladin race.

I heard someone said that Paladin race was one of the strongest races in this map. I tested with this race a lot, with both -ap mode and -hp and the host picked Prophet and sometimes Paladin units appeared. But I can not find the strong points of Paladin units yet, except the Elite archers with multi shot skill, I think it 's very effective to defend wave 9 and less, but it becomes weaker by the time wave 10+ come out and hardly to notice when wave 20+ come out. The paladins have no skill but harden amor which also becomes weaker when time passes. The tier 6 unit of this race, although it has a high damage, its attackspeed is way too slow and it can't even compared with hydra or hades (in my opinion). Can you guys please help me take advantage of Paladin units? Thank a lot in advance
